Chef Ken Carter’s culinary journey began with humble origins—crafting post-game meals for his football team—but his talent and instinct for hospitality quickly set him apart. He would go on to train under the legendary Chef Charlie Trotter, one of the most influential figures in modern American cuisine, refining a discipline and artistry that now defines his work.


Carter later co-founded Gather and The Warbler in Chicago, both lauded for their innovative, ingredient-driven menus and creative approach to contemporary dining. His ability to balance precision with approachability earned him critical acclaim and a loyal following in one of the country’s most discerning food cities.

Now based in Jackson Hole, Chef Carter is the Culinary Director of Caldera House, where he oversees all culinary programming—including Corsa, Shin Shin, and the property's bespoke in-suite dining experiences. His signature style blends Japanese and Mediterranean influences, offering refined, expressive cuisine defined by bold flavors, seasonal ingredients, and unexpected moments of delight.
